as we welcome guest speaker and musician
Cindy Akana

Mothering comes in so many forms, and when we look at nature, we find diverse styles of mothering. So take a journey with Cindy Akana as she presents mothering tips as practiced by animals and nature. Then extend that journey as Cindy highlights mothering lessons she learned as a single parent standing in the love and light of God.
Cindy Akana is currently coaching and teaching at Steilacoom High School. It has been through her work with racially and religiously diverse teenagers, as well as, other marginalized groups that often gives her a fresh perspective on how to apply spiritual practices. She is also a singer/songwriter and has recorded 3 CDs of her original songs. She has two theological degrees and uses her training to inspire individuals and spiritual communities to live more freely, boldly, and lovingly.
